Photo Competition

WOODLANDS – A YEAR IN THE LIFE

This is a community project to record a whole year in the life of the village.

We invite you to take a photographic record of your experience of Woodlands (East and West) over the next year.  The aim is to capture the year to celebrate life in our lovely part of the world. We will select the best pictures for exhibit at the Horse and Groom in East Woodlands, and we might get a calendar in place for 2013 and possibly a book or photo albums if there is sufficient interest.

What to snap? Anything you like: people, landscape, weather, plants, animals, family events, days out. Anything that appeals to you as you go around the area. Anything that says ‘Woodlands’ to you.

Photographs submitted will be displayed on this website. We are looking at enabling people to post their pictures direct, but for now they should be submitted via e-mail as below.

On this site, you will be  able to see your own pictures, see what other people are shooting, and we are looking at letting people to vote for their favourite picture overall at the end of the year.

Meanwhile you can e-mail your pictures to  glyn@east-woodlands.co.uk  or send prints (if you are still using film) hand them in at the Horse and Groom, East Woodlands and we will endeavour to scan and upload them.

Competition
We will be selecting the best photograph each month to receive a prize and the overall winner in the year will get a prize of £100. See here for rules for the competition.

The  competition is open to anyone who visits Woodlands – whether it is to go to the Village Hall, the Pub, the Church, to visit family or friends or to walk around the area.

‘A year in the life…’ will run from 1 January to 31 December 2012.
